From 2015, the centre has been recognised by Spine Society of Andhra Pradesh(SSAP) to conduct six months/one year spine surgery training fellowships. This program is exclusive to young orthopaedic surgeons from preferably Andhra Pradesh who are willing to pursue a career in spine surgery. In this centre, one or two candidates are selected per year. Fellows are selected by an interview conducted by eminent faculty/senior professors from AP and SSAP association. The course starts in August every year and ends next year.

Fellowship Commitments:

The fellow will obtain a comprehensive experience in adult spinal problems, with an emphasis on diagnostic techniques as well as surgical and non-surgical treatment. This fellowship provides adequate exposure to most spinal pathologies and ample opportunities for surgical training. The fellows have clinical and research activities and hands-on surgical training is offered under supervision and guidance. In the theatre, the fellows can observe and perform surgical procedures under supervision of nearly 500 surgeries per year. Upon completion, the fellow will be experienced in the multidisciplinary and surgical treatment approach to spinal problems.There will be good amount of opportunities for active research work and publications. As part of the curriculum, a detailed logbook and a short research project should be submitted at the end of term.
